Malawi MELS

Under USAID’s Malawi Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MELS) Program, IBTCI has supported a multi-year contract funded by the United States Feed the Future Intiative (FTF) and Global Climate Change (GCC) activities implemented by USAID’s Sustainable Economic Growth (SEG) Office. IBTCI has provided multiple performance evaluations of FTF, Malawi Agricultural Diversification efforts, and various topical projects within the food security and environmental sphere.  Additionally, IBTCI conducted evaluation assessments to measure the MEL Program’s success in sustainably reducing poverty and advancing low-emissions, climate resilient development in Malawi. IBTCI utilized field teams to survey local farmers in seven FTF districts within Lilongwe, the capital of Malawi, including Mchinji, Dedza, Ncheu, Balaka, Machinga, and Mangochi. A key outcome of the project has been the creation of a local, peer-to-peer learning consortium for M&E, which has met routinely, called the Kauniuni Forum.
