Kazakhstan External Debt Management

USAID’s Kazakhstan External Debt Management Project was implemented to install a computerized Debt Management and Financial Analysis System (DMFAS) database to improve information flows within the State Debt Office and centralize an accurate database for debt monitoring. IBTCI was contracted to provide technical services and training to the staff of the Kazakhstan Ministry of Finance (MinFin) to use the updated software. IBTCI designed and implemented the next phase of automated systems for banking operations including accounting and administrative operations and reporting.  IBTCI also developed a system-training program for inspectors, bank employees, and analysts, which included utilizing automated IT systems to assess risks. In support of external debt management for MinFin in Kazakhstan, IBTCI installed the DMFAS computerized database in three different servers to allow for simultaneous use between MinFin, the Export-Import Bank (EXIMBANK) and the National Bank of Kazakhstan (NBRK).
