Bangladesh Anti-Corruption Initiatives

IBTCI supported anti-corruption efforts within Bangladesh through a combination of legal, registry, and institutional initiatives within the public and private sector. IBTCI assisted in establishing an independent anti-corruption commission (IACC) through consensus building, drafting of a uniform IACC statute, regulations, and procedures, and implementation of a public awareness campaign formulating the Bangladesh government’s anti corruption strategy. IBTCI’s efforts to support transparent and ethical governance included mitigating and preventing institutional corruption in government ministries by establishing governance audits that would identify areas vulnerable to fraud and misuse of public funds, assisting in training and capacity building for an IACC and government ministries through a train‑the‑trainers corruption prevention program, and developing a scheduled phasing period of corruption-prevention training programs.
