Kenya PEACE II

IBTCI was selected to conduct a final performance evaluation of USAID/East Africa’s Peace in East and Central Africa II (PEACE II) Program.  The five-year PEACE II program was USAID/East Africa’s primary conflict mitigation activity in terms of financial investment and profile and operated in the Kenya-Somalia and Kenya-Uganda border including arid lands and pastoral societies.   IBTCI conducted an evidence-based evaluation that assessed the effectiveness of PEACE II in building community conflict prevention, mitigation, and response capacity and improving public security in targeted communities. IBTCI’s evaluation within the region included interviews with key individuals representing the targeted areas, focus group discussions in conflict areas, conducting surveys with local communities in the targeted areas of the Somali and Karamoja clusters, and the collection and analysis of Conflict Early Warning and Response Mechanism data.
