Shafia brings a diversity of experience to IBTCI. Grounded in community organizing and grassroots movements in disaster and conflict-affect areas, she is skilled in participatory approaches, inclusive development, and stakeholder engagement. She has 11 years of M&E experience specializing in learning at project and organizational levels. Throughout her career she has worked on medical and agricultural relief in the West Bank, IDP resettlement in Sri Lanka, food security and resilience in Nepal, post-Ebola recovery in West Africa, economic growth in Afghanistan and most recently Third Party Monitoring of Humanitarian Aid programs in Yemen and Somalia. She has a BA from University of Wisconsin – Madison and a MA in Sustainable International Development from Brandeis University.
