Juan Carlos Alegre
Juan Carlos Alegre is a Senior Director in the Global Health practice at IBTCI. He provides technical and management leadership for the institutionalization of a comprehensive results management system that encompasses the entire cycle of program design, performance monitoring, evaluation, planning and reporting global health projects and initiatives implemented in the organization.
With more than 20 years of experience in the field of monitoring and evaluation for international development and global health, Mr. Alegre has strong expertise in quantitative modeling skills, using statistical techniques, business models, knowledge management, and information systems to design, implement and evaluate international development programs in global health and other development sectors implemented in low-resource and post-conflict settings. He also brings strong professional experience in health information systems for large global health programs, including the systematic adoption and roll out of DHIS2 in low-resource settings.
He holds a Master of Science degree in Operations Research with a concentration in Management Sciences from The George Washington University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from University of Lima. His field experience includes assignments in Sub-Saharan Africa, Central Asia and Latin America & the Caribbean. He is a native Spanish speaker and fully fluent in English.
