Accountancy, Integrity & Financial Management:
Overview
The IBTCI Accountancy, Integrity & Financial Management Division offers expert technical
assistance and training services in standardizing accounting and auditing practices
across both the public and private sectors in emerging and transition economies
worldwide. For our public sector clients, we provide expertise in setting up the
regulatory and institutional framework to improve or to reform national accounting
practices in line with international standards. We also provide services in university
curriculum reform as well as capacity building support to quasi-public institutions
such as Self-Regulatory Organizations (SRO). In the private sector, we work with
enterprises to facilitate enterprise based accounting reform as well as to improve
internal financial management functions.
IBTCI believes that the international competitiveness of developing countries is
increasingly related to improvements in the management of both private sector
enterprises and public sector institutions. As investors demand greater corporate
transparency, and both citizens and the donor community expect more effective public
financial management, IBTCI believes that improved financial and managerial accounting
systems will be a pre-requisite for sustainable economic development in the new
millennium.
Training is an essential cross-cutting component of IBTCI's Accountancy, Integrity
& Financial Management Practice. We utilize principles of adult learning, a variety of
instructional approaches, and a mix of delivery vehicles to provide our clients with
the most effective means of knowledge transfer. IBTCI has assembled extensive
